the one with the beginning

Here I am, on the final day of spring term writing my first blog. In about 12 weeks I depart for the adventure of a lifetime, Semester at Sea. I will fly from Eugene to Halifax, Nova Scotia and there I will board the MV Explorer. The ship will take me to Spain, Italy, Croatia, Greece, Turkey, Egypt and Morocco. I cannot wait for this adventure to begin. Until then I hope to fill this blog with my travel preparations and book reviews. Along with some other things going on in my life.

One other thing I am preparing for is a pageant, National American Miss Oregon Teen 2010. This weekend marks my first real days of preparation. I am meeting with a great guy Thom, he was a state director for NAM, he is going to guide me through the crazy ordeal of pageant season. I just bought my dress though! The best part of pageant prep by far. It is a beautiful white Tony Bowls gown that I purchased at The Bridal Galley in Salem. I am in love with it, it flows out (hides my imperfections, or as my mom calls it my "winter term") and has a silky shiny under layer.
