My last full day in Spain was interesting to say the least. Let me start with my epic morning. To Amber this will be old news
Sabre had a tour that started at 8 am this morning, mine did not begin until 9 (so I was to be there at 8:45). So when she woke me to go to breakfast at 7:15 I was like no way, and set my alarm for 8. Well as most of you might presume from my habits this school year, my alarm did not go off and I woke up at 8:54. Seriously, and they do NOT wait for you, if you are late you are left behind no matter how much you paid for that trip (A guy missed a trip to Madrid this week that he paid 800 dollars for). So I literally put on a bra under my sleep shirt, shorts, and sandals and sprinted down the hall and stairs to the bus, I have not ran that fast since I chased the kids down who tried to run away from my work. I looked insane. But I got there in time, I was the last one on the bus and then we left.
The first city we went to was about an hour and a half away and was called Tarragona. It was a old Roman city, and had some fantastic ruins, and a beautiful cathedral. Next we went to a village called Montblanc It was equally interesting and pretty. We had lunch there, the appetizers on the table were fresh olives, and a yummy salami. Next course was a salad with some delish deli meats, homemade pepperoni, and some cheese and fresh tomatos. Next was a large piece of grilled chicken with a funky sauce, like the sauce itself wasent bad, and was not really on the chicken. But the side dish was this weird octopus and baby muscles in a yellow sauce. The kid across from me devoured everything on the plate except the not edible shells and bones. It was impressive, Im not going to lie I only ate a bit of the chicken and thats it. For dessert was creme brulee which was delish, of course.
The interesting-ness of my day really happened when Sabre and I embarked on out shopping trip this evening. First off her day trip got in like 3 hours late, it was crazy I thought she had fallen off the face of the earth, I was a bit scared just like chillen in the room waiting for her. But she did arrive and we went off to shop till dinner time. We started at a mall where I bought some gifts and cute shoes! In the mall there was this weird competition going on, these dance fighters
it was odd Sabre said its an African thing, but it was weird
like the act of fighting but no contact. Then we walked down Las Ramblas, which I dont know if I have mentioned before but it is the main drag of Barcelona, like tourist central and totally insane. There was a gay pride parade today, which made the whole street more insane then normal. Lots of topless women, and yeah it was just a bit crazy. But we eventually made it into a few shops and bought another gift and I found a great store- I sware the designer was my long lost fashion twin. I bought a super cute flowerdy shirt! We then had a fantastic 2 hour dinner and split a half a bottle of cheap white wine.
Overall it was a great day, and I cant wait to go to the aquarium tomorrow morning with some new friends I made! Yay :]
Love you all!
Cris
