Tomorrow we finally make port in Egypt! I cant believe that we are actually almost there! This out of all the ports was the one I was most excited for before leaving. Now I think Greece will remain my favorite, but I know Egypt will hold a special place for me just because of my long time interest in it.
I am going on a huge SAS trip for literally the entire time we are in Egypt, which after hearing from the inter-port lecturers and people who have traveled to Egypt before, this was a good decision. One of my friends is coming on the trip too, Sam (Barcelona aquarium
) she and I are going to have a great time. We will most likely be sticking together because many of the students going on this trip have parents meeting them to go on the Parent trip with them. I am pretty jealous of this, but the outrageous amount of money they asked for it was just not worth it. I will have just as much fun with my parents, grandma and Justin in Virginia!
Yesterday and today were class days, all is well on that front, just plugging along at all my class work. Today though we did hit pretty rough seas, and I was knocked out from like 11 am to 6 pm. Pretty rediculious I know, but every time I got inspired to do something I would get up and nearly run to the bathroom to puke. So for the sake of my esophagus I stayed in bed most of the day. But its all good, I now know I cannot go at sea without a ear patch. I have 3 left, maybe 4, and they will be rationed for the trip from Egypt to Morocco and back to Virginia.
Off to bed I go, the next 5 days are going to be a whirlwind:
Day 1: Cairo, Pyramids etc.
Day 2: Fly to Luxor, Valley of the Kings, King Tuts Tomb, Etc.
Day 3: Fly to Aswan, see temples etc., Cruise the Nile
Day 4: Fly to Abu Simbel, see monuments, fly back to Aswan
Day 5: Fly to Cairo, see archeological museum and Liberty square, Take bus back to ship
See you all soon!
