the one with greece days 2&3...

Check out my facebook I finally had enough internet to upload a decent amount of pictures. Also congrats to mom on her magazine cover! It looks great!
On with the story...
Yesterday I went on a “Athens One Day Cruise” to three different islands. The first Island we went to was Hydra. The island was beautiful, there were many little shops and little cafes with lots of tables and lounge chairs out front. Ally and I decided to get a waffle, because even though they were feeding us lunch on the boat we were guessing it would be fish (ick!). Also they just looked delicious, so we ordered, and waited and waited and waited, finally we had to get back to the boat soon so Ally went and asked them to hurry and put them in to go boxes. She got yelled at because we did not tell them this in the beginning. But it all worked out and we sprinted to the boat with our waffles in hand and seconds to spare. We ate our waffles then they served us a interesting lunch, I had bread and amazing olive oil. Then the served salad with tuna (ick!), the Mussacca (sp?) it’s a caserol with potatos in the bottom then ground beef, eggplant, and a thick amazing layer of cheese. It was delish. For dessert was lemon cake. To say the least I was full and really hadent needed the waffle.
The second Island was Poros, it was very cute but we only had about a half hour to explore. The most interesting part was that as we were leaving a fire started on the other side of the bay, it spread fast and I would like to know what happened. (If you can find out email me!).
The final island was Aegaia, I think I spelled it wrong in the captions of my pictures on facebook, sorry. We signed up for a tour there and went to the temple of Athena, and a church. The temple was beautiful, like a smaller better preserved version of the Pantheon. There was also very few restorations underway, and very few other people there so the entire sight was easy to see and just overall amazing. Aegaia is the top producer of Pistacio nuts in the world, and they were good. I had some pistacio ice cream, and yes mom I bought you a bag of them.
Last night I went to bed fairly early and alone :[ Sabre is on her overnight to Delphi so I had no roomie. I watch star trek though and fell asleep to that :]
This morning I went in to the port terminal and skyped with a bunch of you, Sorry if you dident get a turn, maybe another time. :] Then I had cooking lessons! It was so much fun I had a blast leading a team of people to victory over the other teams. (each dish was judged by the chef and the winning team got a prize!) so we naturally won. I learned a few new greek dishes, and I got a little vase as a prize. I also got to have the recipes, my leader hat, and a little apron. It was fun, and I got the chance to speak with Jerry Bowler the Global Studies Professor. Hes a lot of fun and was really nice, we talked about his love of Christmas, and his biography of santa clause book which I am planning on reading.
This afternoon I went into the terminal again to get more info on andritsena, I couldent find any info on time tables for the bus so I asked the lady at the desk with maps for help. She was amazing, her English was very poor but we understood each other well enough that she could call and ask for times to and from andritsena. SO Sabre and I are going to catch the 9:30 bus to andritsena and unfourtunetly only have a few hours there before taking the only bus back at 3:15. This sucks, but it would be too risky to stay the night and come back the day we leave. Well who knows we still have not decided. Thanks for all the help from the Coven family, you guys have been great and I hope I make you proud tomorrow!

Loves,
Cris
