the one with a lot of sight seeing...

The past few days I have done nothing but "sight see." But I believe the first time you come to istanbul this is nessasary. There is just so much to see. Mosques, Churches, mosques that have turned to churches, palaces, museums, even the people watching should be considered sight seeing. Yesterday I went of two SAS tours, first Jesish Tradition In Istanbul, then in the afternoon, Christian Tradition in Istanbul. They were both very interesting. I loved visiting two synagogues, my fist ever being Neve Shalom Synagogue. It was fasinating to see the similarities and differences between synagogues and churches. I would love to read more on the subject.
Of the Churches we visited the best in my opinion was the Church of Chora, with its wonderful Mosaics depicting bible stories that are not normally depicted. My favorite of which is the story of Jesus healing the Bleeding Women. Mark 5:25-34 This is one of my all time favorite passages by the way.
For now I must go, I will write again later after the Sufi Dervish Ceremony.

Loves, Crista
