the one with preparations for an adventure...

On the 16th, as indicated in my last post, I will be embarking on a little mini Coven adventure. My final preparations are almost completed. I just downloaded all the letters and certificates I have collected from the family, and have checked every guidebook available for information on Andritsena. I have found out many interesting and exciting things.

On Saturdays the village holds a market, which according to Frommers is a fabulous place to purchase all kinds of bells, such as those for sheep, cow and goat. It is also a wonderful place to pick up local teas and herbs. The problem is I will be arriving on a Friday and leaving that same day, so I will have to find another place to buy my goat a bell.
The Folk Museum has posted hours but is rarely open, so to gain admittance you must knock on the door of the house next to it and they will eather open it up for you or call someone else too. But inside is housed local wedding costumes, rugs (which Andritsena is famous for), farm tools, and suprisingly more interesting to me than the wedding costumes are family photos from the area.
I also found some great information about who to talk to for help in the town and where and what to eat.

As you can imagine, I am very very excited for this little adventure. I have even started my own little "Greek Travel Journal" seperate from my normal journal, to house all important Greek information I find.

Get excited, we make port in Greece tomorrow!!!

loves, Cris
