Yesterday was another independent adventure, this time with Sabre, Ally, and Alex. We slept in a bit, just until 8 and got one of the first ferries out to Sorrento. We had a great day shopping, eating lunch in a fancy yet shockingly cheap restaurant and ending the afternoon with nutella gelato. We had planned on going to the beach but it was 8 euro a person at all the beaches. We did enjoy or time there though, we each bough some nice souvenirs to remember the day. Once back at the ship we layed out on the strikingly empty 7th deck and stuck our feet in the pool. After pb&j for dinner Sabre and I went to our room early to prepare for are very early morning today.
This morning we rose at the horrendous time of 6:45 because I insisted on getting to the bus for our trip to Capri full 25 minuets early. I was justified because I did not have a ticket for the trip and there are only so many extra spots on the bus. I did get onto the trip, and we set off at 8am with our fabulous guide Franchesca. It was so unbelievably nice to be back on a SAS planned trip. Independent travel is very difficult and stressful; it makes for better stories but in my opinion is not worth the trouble. The bus driver drove us down the road to the ferry pier and we had some extra time to grab a snack before getting on the ferry. I once again got this amazing coffee treat, that really is exactly like a mocha freeze from dutch bros, except pre packaged. It was a excellent reminder of home. After we got off the ferry in Capri we boarded a mini bus that took us to Anacapri, a place refreshingly, I had not been to. It was a quaint little town at the very top of the mountainous island. We then chose to ride a chair lift to the very very top of the island. It was an amazing ride; you need to wait for the pictures/video because I cannot describe how amazing it all was. After that we enjoyed a wonderful lunch, and had a great conversation with one of the professors. I have been thinking strongly about being a professor. It seems like a great deal, teaching, advising, and being paid to learn. She told Sabre and I about how she came to be a professor and all this interesting stuff. We spent the afternoon doing a walking tour of Capri, and my back is paying for it. We made our way down to the beach and Sabre went swimming and I stuck my feet in the water :] We made it back to the boat now, and I am unable to move. My back is finally catching up to me, tomorrow is going to be my rest day. I have nothing to do anyway, all my friends are doing SAS trips, and I really dont think I could walk very far.
Hope everyone is having a great 4th of July!!!!
