Yesterday Sabre and I went to some lectures in the evening; a recent graduate of the University in Barcelona gave the first one. He has his degree in tourism, and had some helpful information, along with a list of things in the city you should not miss. The second lecture was given by our kind of “officer” on the ship, I don’t know his actual title, but his job is to patrol the ship at night until everyone is in bed safely. He pretty much controls the 7th deck bar area, and makes sure there are no fights etc. He is ex NYPD and very well traveled. He gave his talk of port safety. He talked about ATM’s, pickpockets, pickpockets, and safety for women. Such as what to do if someone is following you, and good moves for getting away if someone grabs you. It was VERY informative, and will prove useful in all the ports. By popular demand, he is going to give a self-defense class in-between Greece and Turkey. Yesterday we also cruised through the straights of Gibraltar. Not as exciting as it could have been with less fog, but still very exciting to see not only land but buildings (signs of Life!!).

Well I will not bore you with any more shipboard randomness. Except the Stupid Question of the Day as re told by “The Voice” on the noon announcements yesterday, the question was overheard in the dining room: “Will we be crossing the Atlantic on the way home?”
As you can clearly see, not everyone on this voyage was chosen for their smarts.

Loves,
Cris
